Donated AquaSpray toys liven up Las Vegas park rebuild

Joe Kneip Park of North Las Vegas, US, had a complete makeover with AquaSpray toys and other features as part of a community parks build program.

Each year a park is chosen for rebuilding by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) from the host city of the NRPA annual conference as part of its Parks Build Community program.

Park equipment manufacturers and local community organisations donate equipment and time to the cause to give nearby families a revamped park to play in.

As the 2015 NRPA Annual Conference was hosted in Las Vegas, The Joe Kneip Park was chosen and WhiteWater donated equipment from its AquaSpray range for the project, along with contributions of products and services from 10 other sponsors.

"Joe Kneip Park is an important community space for the many nearby families who have few options to get outside, recreate and spend time with friends and neighbours. However, the park was in need of major renovation and restoration," says Jimmy O'Connor, director of conservation with NRPA.

He added: "NRPA is thrilled to partner with WhiteWater to bring a brand new splash pad to Joe Kneip - a first for this park and a real gift to this community - as part of the 2015 NRPA Annual Conference."

The park was revealed on the last day of the NRPA Annual Conference and community of North Las Vegas along with the park sponsors and industry colleagues assembled for the re-opening in September.
